At JHS 123: The Bronx Urban Community Magnet School, we trained and coached three teacher teams to implement Student-Teacher Dialogues between 2022 to 2024. The school is now continuing Dialogues on their own.

  • After a 30-week Dialogues Cycle supporting a 6th grade teacher team from 2022 to 2023:

    • 10 of 10 positively adjusted aspects of their teaching

    • 10 of 10 felt more supported when teaching

    • 10 of 10 developed deeper relationships with their students

    • 9 of 10 saw more students participate in class

    • 9 of 10 saw classroom management improve

    • 9 of 10 saw more students engage in learning

    • 9 of 10 felt more supported seeing shared challenges across classes

    • Students reported a 30% increase in listening to their peers in class and a 26% increase in their teacher asking difficult questions, between fall and spring

  • After the initial 10-week pilot with a Social Studies teacher team in 2022:

    • 7 of 7 wanted to continue the Dialogues program in their class

    • 6 of 7 felt more connected with their students

    • 6 of 7 felt more connected with the participating teacher team

    • 6 of 7 felt more supported seeing shared challenges across classes

    • 5 of 7 felt more motivated teaching

    • 5 of 7 observed classroom management improve
